Elkins Little League, located in Elkins, WV, is a chartered under Little League International. We are a non-profit organization that has depended on sponsorships and volunteers for nearly 70 years. In 1990 we moved from our home at the Elkins Middle School to our current location at Riverbend Park. Many names and faces are responsible for our longevity and success but none more than Melvin Heckle.
Melvin was more than instrumental in our move to River Bend. Melvin. a local contractor, visited numerous facilities across the state and beyond to develop the facility we now enjoy. With his plan on paper, he along with many volunteers went to work. Melvin was exacting in every step of the process. He was not satisfied with close enough, it had to be right. Come by and see it in person and you will see and appreciate his dedication.
Over the years our league has changed in its composition. Today, we charter 4 Divisions of Baseball. Majors (11-12),Minor 9-10, Minor 6-8, and tee ball (4-6). Our league registers online and we have over 250 participants composing the 4 divisions. We have games every week night and Saturdays are loaded full. We do not schedule Regular season games on Sundays.
We are in WV District 8 and often host District Tournaments.
